Rad Jet - "An Opportunity Almost Missed"

Hey, I’m Kaju from Rad Jet.

But you can simply call me “Rad” if you like.

I’m super excited to tell everyone that Rad Jet will be releasing 10 new songs - or one every month - through the end of 2023. By early 2024, I plan to release the full album of all 10 songs.

These are songs I’d written but never recorded over 30 years. Words simply cannot express how proud I am of these songs, they are truly timeless.

It all begins with the debut song and new full video release of “96 Guns” on July 8th.

Funny, a friend recently mentioned, “What inspired this sudden explosion of creativity?”

So basically I had some unfinished songs I lost for 30 years. They were all only 70% finished. But somehow I had convinced myself they were completely finished - and then forgot about them.

That’s why by the mid 90’s as I drifted further and deeper working in the cover music scene leading bands, I began to believe I would never again record my own songs. Or ever find my original voice - or a path to my music again.

Fast forward 20 years later. One day I found them in the back of my storage room living on some old computer hard drive I still had from the 90’s that was covered in a keg of dust

When I powered it up and discovered the old computer still miraculously worked, and then looked inside and rediscovered all of the words and music, my jaw literally dropped. It was like finding a buried treasure

When I started playing them again last year, the MAGIC began to happen all over again - it’s like I met my former self in the Twilight Zone.

I quickly realized one was missing a bridge, another maybe a 3rd verse, and several of them didn’t have a proper endings.

All of these reasons are what compelled me to get back to songwriting in July of 21, and I started filing in those gaps to finish all 10 of them.

By the time I finished them, and listened back, I realized the stories that were told in the songs I wrote all those years ago were still timeless and relatable.

But the Magic of the Music happened while playing these songs on guitar – everything just sounded SO DAMN GOOD even 30 years later I HAD NO CHOICE but to make this long overdue record.

So getting back to my friend mentioning, “What inspired this sudden explosion of creativity?”

Honestly I think it was my own mortality that triggered me to finally break the cycle and get off the hamster wheel to finish these songs. Over recent years I’ve had scares due to heart issues like bradycardia and arrhythmia that had me worried.

And there is also good news on the horizon about my focal hand dystonia. I already started advanced botox treatments. These treatments have advanced so radical in recent years, more are saying this is global.

All of this makes me feel extremely blessed and grateful for this was indeed “An Opportunity Almost Missed.”
